BENJAMIN FORBES HUMPHREYS (BUD): On September 7, 2016 at 85 years of age at the Georgetown Hospital. Buddy was born in Pictou, Nova Scotia on February 17, 1931 one of 5 children of the late Emma and Benjamin Humphreys. He left behind his lifelong friend Theresa Evans, and daughters Lisa and Fern (husband Ross, grandchildren Kyle and Shaela). He is survived by sister Myrna Carew (husband Bayne), sister Miriam Travis (husband George) and predeceased by older brother Keith and younger brother Gerald.
Bud loved the Maritimes, a culture rich in music, dancing and great friendships. He was an enthusiastic square dancer and talented musician and member of the Metro Fiddlers in Halifax that played at hundreds of events throughout Nova Scotia, including for Queen Elizabeth during her last visit. He loved to sail and created wonderful memories with his daughters Fern and Lisa on the shores of PEI sailing each summer. As an electronic technician, Bud worked for many years on navigational equipment on Royal Canadian Navy ships. Bud survived many illnesses and his family would like to thank the staff at Mountainview Residence in Georgetown, Ontario where he was a favourite and spent his last days. We will hold a Celebration of Bud's life at COLE HARBOUR FUNERAL HOME (1234 Cole Harbour Road, Cole Harbour) at 11 am – 12:30 pm on Saturday, Sept 17, 2016.
