Bonnie Gosselin
July 6, 1945 - July 9, 2016
Three days past her 71st birthday, Bonnie Gosselin (nee Wells) passed away at home in Lawrencetown, Nova Scotia. By her side was
her husband and friend of forty-seven years, Guy. Bonnie was born in the Eastern Townships of Quebec to her parents Russell Wells and
June Hyatt. She was raised there with her three sisters, Deanna, Sandy and Robyn.
Bonnie had a charm and sense of humour like no other. She was generous and hospitable. Known for her culinary skills, she was
happiest in the kitchen preparing feasts while surrounded by family and friends, all eager for her food and company. Bonnie had a keen
interest in current events, travel and culture. This, with her sense of adventure, led her to relocate many times with Guy,
living in Quebec, Ontario and her final years in beautiful Nova Scotia.
More than anything Bonnie was a dedicated and loving mother to Heather (Andrew Molloy), Carmen (Andrew Summerley) and Tracey (Mark
Jackson). She loved her sons in law dearly, but (perhaps) more so, the grandchildren and pets that came from those unions.
Liam, Calum, Sam and Amelia were the recipients of enormous adoration from their Nanny. She made them feel loved and special in whatever
capacity she could. This love was deeply reciprocated. Bonnie will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends. The love she gave
us will last a lifetime. The shared memories will keep us laughing for years to come.
The entire family would would like to thank all those involved in Bonnie's care over the years. Her illness spanned more than two
decades so there are many to thank! A special thank you to Dr. Doreen and the team at QEII, all the wonderful VON nurses, Mitch and the
community palliative team doctors. Bonnie (and her family) thought highly of all of you and we are all grateful for your kindness and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to the Children's Wish Foundation. Nothing would make Bonnie happier than
knowing she helped make a child's wish come true!
