<div itemprop="description">Bentley, Darren Macdougall<br><br>Age 48 of Timberlea passed away June 9, 2016 in his home.<br><br>Born in Truro, he was a son of Douglas and Mary (Archibald) Bentley.<br><br>Darren received his Bachelor of Commerce from Saint Mary’s University and continued his education, obtaining his CGA designation. He worked for many years in the food industry as an accountant with Bolands and Loblaws. Most recently he worked for the Nova Scotia Department of Health.<br>He was a sports enthusiast throughout his life, enjoying darts, pool, Nine Ball, Snooker, slow pitch, and supporting his “home” team in the NFL. In recent years he returned to the game of golf, playing many rounds with friends and introducing his daughter, Angela, to the sport.<br>He was an avid curler throughout his life. He curled competitively for many years. He represented Nova Scotia on provincial teams at the 1984 Pepsi Juniors in Winnipeg and again at the 1991 Labatt Brier in Hamilton, both with brother, Dan.<br>Darren will be missed by his loving wife, Brenda (nee Gault); daughter, Angela, Timberlea; mother, Mary, Middle Sackville; sister Donna (Michael) Bouchard, Middle Sackville; brothers David (Dale), Berwick; Doug (Ann), Truro; Dan (Denise), Dartmouth; and 11 nieces and nephews, of whom he was proud to watch grow into adults with their own families.<br><br>He was predeceased by his father, Douglas Bentley.<br><br>Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 14 2016 at Cole Harbour Funeral Home from 4 to 6 pm with a celebration of life immediately to follow in the funeral home until 7 pm. Burial will take place at Dartmouth Memorial Gardens at a later date<br></div>
