<div itemprop="description">King (Quinn) Denise -75, Mineville, passed away suddenly on November 14th, 2013. Born in Edmonton, Alberta, she was daughter of the late John and Hazel (Martin) Quinn. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by twin brother Dennis. In her younger years, Denise enjoyed teaching various forms of dance from tap, to the highland fling, and was an avid reader and knitter. A military spouse for more than 20 years, Denise lived all over Canada including postings to Whitehorse, Y.T., Edmonton, and Moncton, N.B., where she made, and kept in touch with numerous life-long friends. Most importantly, she was a passionate supporter of the Friends of Bill W.; where she served as a volunteer, and sponsored many people for more than 30 years. Upon retiring in Mineville, Denise also became actively involved with the St. David's United Church Time Out Group for women. She is survived by her husband of 54 years Reuben (Larry) King, sister Kathleen (Mann) Mason, Edmonton; sons Dennis, Mineville; Bruce, Edmonton; Tony, Moncton; daughter Erin (Mike) Arnold, Dartmouth; grandsons, Jacob, Matthew and Samuel. Denise is also mourned by several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 14th at St. David's United Church, Lake Echo. A reception will follow in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, donations in Denise's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
