Many will remember Frankie or ‘Swankie Frankie’ (as he was sometimes called) for his great sense of humour. “We love you man” was one of his favourite sayings to his golfing buddies in Greenwood. He was always game to participate in dress up with the Midtown Hockey Team on trips to Moncton and New Years at the Kingston Legion. Frankie was an avid sportsman who enjoyed playing hockey and golf, coaching minor hockey, umpiring baseball (Canada summer games) the same year by the way he married “the love of his life” Gail in 1967. He played Halifax Minor Hockey, monarch’s Maritime Midget Champions, St. Pat’s High, N.S., Provincial Champions, Fairview Aces in the Suburban League and the Midtown Tavern Old-Timers (where he spent many hours talking about sports). He was a diehard Montreal Canadians fan. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 98 Kingston. He enjoyed his lunches and coffee with his friends at A&W. Thank you to the staff who were always so good to him. Special thank you to all the staff of Continuing Care Nova Scotia for all their help at home and bringing a smile to Frank’s face every time they visited. Also, to all the staff at Grand View Manor for their compassionate care especially the Chase Unit, who also managed to keep that smile on his face and sense of humour alive.
