It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our loving husband, father and grandfather, after a brief hospitalization, very peacefully and without pain surrounded by family, in the Dartmouth General Hospital, on December 21, 2014. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Francis Walter and Geraldine Agnes (Martin). Before his retirement, he worked in the glass industry for many years, was a lover of hockey, football and curling. George was a proud Santamarian attending many football and hockey games over the years. He is survived by the love of his life for the past 56 years, Daphne (McLaughlin); daughters, Cindy Hills, Cole Harbour; Pam (Michael) Clark, Burlington, ON; sons, Mike (Kathy), Stittsville, ON; Pat (Tanya), Moncton, NB; brothers, Robert &quot;Puddy&quot; (Joanie), Donald (Ann) all of Halifax; already missed by grandchildren, Ashley (Kerry), Brandon, Patricia (Ryan), Buddy (Brianne), Justin, Matthew, Caleb, step-grandchildren, Alex and Jeremie. He was predeceased by brothers, Frank, Gerald, Peter; sister, Mary; son in law, Bernie Hills. Visitation will be held 12-2 PM Saturday December 27th, in St Vincent de Paul Parish, Flying Cloud Drive, Dartmouth. Funeral mass 2 pm. Reception to follow. Interment in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Mumford Road, Halifax. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation or Alzheimer Society.
