Boutilier, Gordon Clyde, 70 - Lower Sackville, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, on Monday, June 9, 2014 at the Halifax Infirmary after a short illness. Born in Halifax, he was the son of the late Leah (nee Conrad) of Broadcove and Clyde Boutilier of Halifax. Gordon had a creative spirit and enjoyed painting and building many projects over the years. A skilled carpenter, he built a number of homes and residential developments within the Halifax area and would spend his days off working on his cabin in Chester Basin. He enjoyed riding motorcycles with his best friend Butch and searching the flea markets for hidden treasures with Ida. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren and would boast about their achievements to whoever would listen. He could fix anything and was always happy to lend a hand to a friend in need and enjoyed chatting with many friends in his neighbourhood. He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years Ida (Pearson); children, Garnet (Theresa), Steven, RyLee (Clay), Gordon (Lisa); ten grandchildren; younger brother Glenn (Holly); sister-in-law Imelda; father-in-law Raymond; brothers-in-law Raymond, Ronnie (Mary Anne), Herbie; many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Gordon was preceded by brother, Gary. Moncton; mother in law Jean, Halifax. The family would like to sincerely thank the nurses and doctors who attended to Gordon during his illness for their exceptional care and support in his final days. He will be dearly missed by many. The family will be celebrating Gordon’s life at a memorial gathering on Sunday, June 15 from 6-8pm at the Weir Field Building - 2476 #1 Windsor Hwy, Middle Sackville.
