Ord, Ian Lovat of Dartmouth passed away on October 4th, 2014 with his family by his side. Born August 27th, 1931 in Longtown, England. Ian was affectionately known as “Mousey Ord” by his family and friends in England. Ian is survived by his wife, Pauline, daughter Julie (Ced) Saunders, sons Peter (Margaret) and Paul. Grandchildren; Troy (Meghan) Saunders, Jeffrey Saunders, Amanda (Jeremy) Glover, Bryan Ord, Cameron Ord, Matthew Ord and brother, Frank. Ian was predeceased by his parents Robert & Florence Ord, 1st wife, Amy, sister Betty and brother Robin. We would like to say a very special thank you to Dr. Gregus, family doctor & Dr. Peltekian Liver Transplant Clinic for their outstanding care over the years. Thank you to the nurses & doctors at H.I. 8.2 for their care, compassion & kindness shown to dad and our family during a most difficult time. As per Ian’s request there will be no funeral or visitation. He was a huge animal lover and will be fondly remembered by the many who have walked the trails at Shubie Park and would see him (with his many shelties over the years) feeding the birds and squirrels while they followed behind. Dad was always very concerned about the homeless and those in need and helped many of them. In honour of Ian donations can be made to a Homeless Shelter of your choice, SPCA or Bide a While animal shelter. Cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to Cole Harbour Funeral Home.
