It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ida Nause (at the age of 90) on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at her home in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Beloved wife of Lawrence Nause for 52 years and loving mother to Darryl, Lawren (Susan), Ronald (Linda), Steven (Linda), Murray (Barbara), Darlene (Bill), Allen (Julie), Elaine (David), Anne-Marie and Paul (Noreen). Cherished grandmother to 19 grandchildren. Predeceased by her husband Lawrence, son Darryl, infant daughter Anne-Marie; by parents Andre and Isabelle LaPierre (nee: Julien); by brothers and sisters: Edmund, Mabel, Cyril, Philip, Anselme, Ernest, Eva and Therese.
Ida was born to Andre and Isabelle LaPierre in the French Acadian community of West Chezzetcook, Nova Scotia on January 27th, 1924. She was married to her late husband Lawrence Nause on Sept 3, 1946 at St. Mary’s Basilica in Halifax, NS. Her passion in life was her children and her grandchildren, who came first in her hopes and dreams. She truly loved playing cribbage with her children and her weekly card games with her very good friends, George and Helen. She also had a love of gardening. She was extremely proud of her French Acadian heritage and loved to share that pride with her children through precious memories of her childhood days. Her children feel truly blessed to have had such a wonderful and loving mother as a role model in life. She will be remembered always by her family as a person who gave freely and asked nothing in return but love. Visitation will be held at the Cole Harbour Funeral Home, 1234 Cole Harbour Rd, Cole Harbour, NS, on Tuesday, May 27th from 6-8 pm. The funeral service will be held at St. Anselm Parish, 7037 Hwy 207, West Chezzetcook, Nova Scotia on Wednesday May 28th at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated
