<div itemprop="description">Age 78 of Lower Sackville passed away peacefully at home after a year-long battle with ovarian cancer. <br> <br>Born in Steeves Mountain, NB she was a daughter of the late Lewis and Blanche Lockhart. <br> <br>Joan worked at Bedford Eye Care for many years where she left behind many lasting friendships. She was a member of the Mothers’ Union at St. John-Evangelist Anglican Church, of where she was also a member. She will be remembered for her devotion to her family, always putting them first. Her grandchildren will love and miss their Nan deeply. <br> <br>Joan will be greatly missed by her beloved husband of almost 50 years, Jack; daughter Jo-Ann (Joey) Maillet; son Jon (Nicole) Judge; brother Wayne (Brenda) Lockhart; precious grandchildren Aaron, Adam, Alexa Maillet, Olivia Judge, Ashley Maillet; cousin Audrey Robinson; and several nieces and nephews. <br> <br>Visitation will take place Wednesday June 8 6-8pm at St. John-Evangelist Anglican Church Hall, 934 Old Sackville Rd, Middle Sackville. The funeral service will be held Thursday, June 9 at 1 pm at St. John-Evangelist Anglican Church Hall, followed by interment at Oakridge Memory Gardens, 1078 Old Sackville Road, Middle Sackville, with a reception to follow at the church hall. <br> <br>In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John-Evangelist Anglican Church. <br> <br>The family would also like to extend special thanks to Northwood Home Care, VON, Barbara Stewart - Pallative Care, special niece Judy Wheatley, dear friends Sheila Fraser, Barb Graves, Jack & Darlene Spicer for your support on this journey with Joan until the end.</div>
