<div itemprop="description">BILLARD (Williams), Matilda “Annie” - 82, Halifax, passed away Sunday January 22, 2017 in the QEII Health Sciences Halifax Infirmary Site. Born in Burnt Island, Newfoundland, she was a daughter of the late Jobe and Susanna (Smurridge) Thorne. <br> <br>Annie moved to Halifax as a teenager to make a better life for herself. Her family eventually joined her, settling down and raising their families in Timberlea. She worked for twenty years at the Moirs Box Factory. She and Art spent the best years of their lives camping at the Rawdon Gold Mines Campgrounds with Cyril and Marie and their friends. Annie happily lived the last years of her life as a member of the Parkland Clayton Park retirement community. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the joy of her life. <br> <br>She is survived by sons, Keith (Karen) Williams, Cole Harbour; Henry (Anne) Williams, Lower Sackville; sisters, Marie Griffen; Elizabeth Robia, both of Timberlea; brother, Henry (Patsy) Thorne, Halifax; grandchildren, Joey (Rebecca) Williams, Cole Harbour; Jeffrey (Jennifer) Williams, Cole Harbour; Tara Lee Williams, Lower Sackville; great-grandchildren, Brayden; Georgia; Tucker; Elijah; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur Billard; brothers-in-law Cyril Griffen, Amos Robia. <br> <br>Cremation has taken place under the direction of Cole Harbour Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held 11:00 am, Thursday, January 26, 2017 in St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, Timberlea. Interment in church cemetery. Reception to follow in church hall.
