<div itemprop="description"><br /><br />Doane (Dash), Muriel Ethel, of Halifax, passed away on October 10, 2015 in the Victoria General Hospital, QEII.<br /><br />Born in Shelburne County, she was a daughter of the late Aileen (Stoddard) and Walter Dash.<br /><br />Muriel was married to the love of her life, Shirley Doane, for 66 years before his death in 2007. She was an active, caring person whose home and family were her pride and joy. She loved to travel, sew and knit, cook fabulous meals, play the piano, do crosswords, play cards, take walks, spend time with friends and was an avid Blue Jays fan. During her life, she sold Avon, worked as a high school librarian and as a clerk at a store.<br /><br />She was predeceased by her husband, four brothers and a sister. Muriel is survived by her sister Flora Ross; daughters, Juanita (Wayne-deceased) Singer, Donna (Dave) Rose, Christine Doane, Linda (Roger) Genier and Marcia (Terry) Shaw; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.<br /><br />Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Rockingham United Church, 12 Flamingo Drive, Halifax on Sunday October 18, 2015 at 2pm.<br /><br />In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.<br /><br />Thank you to all of the wonderful staff of 8A for their kindness, support, empathy and care to Muriel and the family.<br /><br />Online condolences may be made by visiting www.coleharbourfuneral.com<br /><br /> <br /></div>
