<div itemprop="description">Young, Paul W. -51, Cole Harbour, passed away suddenly November 15, 2014, in the QEII Health Science Centre, VG Site, , after a brief but courageous battle with cancer, with his loving partner Shelley at his side.<br /><br />Paul was born in Glace Bay, and was the youngest son of Millie Young (Howley) and the late Vernon Young. He is survived by his son, Andrew (Amanda); loving partner, Shelley Cooper; brother, Blair (Ann Marie); sisters, Debbie (Chris Burrows), Rachel (Les Kelly),step sons, Cecil and Steven; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.<br /><br />Paul was a long time employee of Leon&rsquo;s Furniture in Burnside and will be sadly missed by all of his co-workers who showed tremendous support for him and his family throughout his short illness.<br /><br />He will be remembered as a kind, soft spoken man with a very unique sense of humour and the ability to find the good in any situation he found himself in. Paul had a great love of all things related to the outdoors, especially kayaking with Shelley, and outdoor photography; a hidden talent he was just beginning to discover.<br /><br />Our heartfelt thanks go out to all the medical staff that took care of Paul during his illness. This includes the Dartmouth General, Halifax Infirmary, Rehabilitation Centre, and the VG Hospital.<br /><br />Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Cole Harbour Funeral Home, 1234 Cole Harbour Road, where visitation will be held 7-9 PM today. Funeral service 10 AM Wednesday in the funeral home chapel. Cremation to follow. Private family interment will take place at a later date.
