<div itemprop="description">CONNOR, Ralph David &ndash; 86, Dartmouth, passed away April 5, 2016 at his home with his devoted wife Ann and daughter Tanya by his side as they always were. Born in St. Joseph's hospital Toronto Ontario he was the only son of the late David Joseph Connor of Saint Leonards NB and Molly Antoinette Rose (Sirois) of Van Buren, Maine. Ralph grew up in Sainte Agathe, Quebec near the Laurentian Mountains that he loved. He attended Stanstead College Quebec where he played on the football and hockey teams. He attended Mount Allison University 1954, TUNS 55 mechanical engineer, and Dalhousie 72 with his MBA. Most of Ralph's career was spent as a Mechanical engineer with the Department of National Defence where he was Head of Underwater Weapons Department. Ralph had a unique character and was passionate about life. He never let his age stop him from doing anything. The lesson he lived by was to do what you love and do it when you're able don't wait. He brought joy to a lot of people&rsquo;s lives through his uncanny sense of humour and practical jokes. He had a keen eye for beauty which is reflected in his keen passion for nature and photography. He had many hobbies. He enjoyed the outdoors and sports such as rock climbing, snow shoeing, snow and ice climbing, hiking, winter camping birdwatching, fly tying, salmon fishing and mountain biking. His long time love of jazz and big time jazz bands carried on most of his life. You name it, Ralph did it - no matter what the age a lesson for all of us. He had many happy memories spending time with family in New York City, Toronto, Liverpool NS and at Mount Tremblant Quebec. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife Ann; children, Cynthia, Dartmouth; James (Daisy )Toronto; Tanya, Dartmouth; grandchildren, Isabella, Sophia and Sean, all of Toronto. The family wishes to express their thanks to VON, Red Cross, Continuing Care, home care staff, Cathy, Monica , and Tracey. A special thanks to Kelly Baker for your devotion throughout the years. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Cole Harbour Funeral Home, 1234 Cole Harbour Road, where a memorial service will be held 2 PM Saturday. Donations in memory may be made to Canadian Crohn's and Colitis Foundation or Nova Scotia Heart &amp; Stroke Foundation.
