WILLIAM, Robert Thomas, 50, slipped away peacefully December 22nd, 2016 at home in the arms of his loved ones. Spirited and spiritual; reverent and deeply irreverent, Rob was a meticulous scientist, an inspired musician and artist, a mischief-maker with a rapier wit, a lyrical teacher and above all, a gifted friend.

Rob’s science let him explore the ocean, forests, lakes and streams and all the life they harbour: the fungus, the flora, the fauna. Music and art helped him explore life’s deepest questions, while his friends were a vital golden web with him in adventure and misadventure.

Some of his happiest moments were spent watching the sun in its fiery splendor slip beneath the horizon. As its last rays disappeared, he well knew it was blazing to life elsewhere. May his spirit ever light the endless horizons of this marvellous universe.

Rob is survived by his beloved Joy Kelly, father Thomas, stepmother Madonna and sister Laura. He was predeceased by his beautiful mother Patricia.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the ALS Society of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia www.alsnbns.ca or a gift of a blood donation through Canadian Blood Services www.blood.ca would help us recognize the tremendous support he received from them.

A remembrance mass will be held on Thursday, December 29th at St. Thomas More parish, Dartmouth, at 10am, followed by a reception in the church hall.
