KERR, ROBERT (Bob) JOHN GORDON, 81 Cole Harbour - It is with deep sadness the family of Robert (Bob) Kerr announces his passing on Tuesday May 20, 2014 at the Dartmouth General Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Verdun, Quebec he was the son of the late Robert and Violet (Walker) Kerr. While working at Fairey Aviation dad met our mother Doris (Sellars) whom he cherished and was married to for 59 years. She predeceased him in February 2014. Dad joined the Dartmouth Fire Department where he served until his retirement in May 1992. He loved to garden, do woodworking and spend time with his children and grandchildren and would never miss the opportunity to go to dinner with them. He was affectionately known to his grandchildren as “Gee”. Surviving are his children Karen (Ted White), Kathy (Vern Miller), Robert (Wendy Schmid) and Kim (Bob Sharp). The pride of his life were his grandchildren Jeff Harris, Erin Bridgeo, Daniel Miller (Nyesha), Brendan Miller (Tara), Nicholas Kerr (Nicole), Rebecca Kerr, Matthew Sharp (Rebekah) and Adam Sharp (Alyce). Great grandchildren Emma and Hannah Harris, Brookelyn, Jaydon and Kenley Bridgeo whom he loved with all his heart. He also leaves to mourn his passing a sister Ruth (Vernon Arenburg) and brother David (Marie). Several nieces and nephews and special cousins. Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made to Woodlawn United Church or the charity of your choice. Our most sincere thanks to the staff of the Dartmouth General Hospital for the care of our father. “To live in the hearts of those you leave behind is to never die. You will forever be in our hearts.” Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.coleharbourfuneral.com
