February 27, 1938 - June 29, 2016
Age 78 of Cole Harbour, passed away at the QEII Halifax Infirmary Site on June 29 2016.
Born in Minasville, Nova Scotia she was a daughter of the late Gerald and Elsie (Thompson) Scott.
Helen taught math for 35 years and retired from Prince Andrew High School in 1994. She enjoyed traveling, playing cards, and spending time with her grandchildren. She will be remembered for her lengthy “to-do” list at the summer home in Minasville, with family.
She will be missed by her daughters, Susan (James) Garland, Middle Sackville; Catherine (Ian) Hart, Fall River; son Andrew (Elizabeth) Corkum, Hammonds Plains; sister Myrna (Colin) Davies, Kincardine, Ontario; niece Karen (Damian) Taylor, Owen Sound, Ontario; and nephew Michael Davies, British Columbia. Her 8 grandchildren Lucas, Samuel, Ryan, Jennifer, Thomas, Timothy, Anthony, and Samantha will miss their Grammie dearly.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Donald and a sister in infancy.
Cremation has taken place. A private family graveside service will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the 10th floor staff of Northwood Manor and 8.3 staff of QEII Halifax Infirmary.
