<div itemprop="description">BASHOW, Sheila Ann, RN 1939-2014 <br /> <br />It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Sheila Ann (Collier) Bashow of Halifax. She passed away Wednesday, 30 April, 2014 at Arborstone Enhanced Care in Halifax. <br /> <br />Born in Sydney Mines , she was the daughter of the late George and Ann (MacPhee) Collier, and the sister of the late Donald Collier of North Sydney. <br /> <br />Sheila graduated from Nursing in 1960 from Glace Bay General Hospital and practiced nursing at the Metropolitan Hospital in Windsor, Ontario, returning to Nova Scotia and Camp Hill Veteran&rsquo;s Hospital where she spent the majority of her career. <br /> <br />Sheila is survived by her husband of 50 years, Charles Bashow of Liverpool; son Leslie (Lisa); daughter Sheila (Brent) Szafron; and four beloved grandsons, Alasdair, Calum, Travis and Lyle. &ldquo;Nanny&rdquo; Bashow will be greatly missed. <br /> <br />The family would like to thank the staff of the 3rd and 4th floor of Arborstone Enhanced Care, on the Purcell&rsquo;s Cove Road, for their care of our Mom. <br /> <br />There will be no visitation. Funeral Service will take place 11 am Monday at the Presbyterian Church of Saint David, 1537 Brunswick St, Halifax. <br /> <br />In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the Alzheimer&rsquo;s Society of Nova Scotia. <br />Online condolences may be made by visiting: www.coleharbourfuneral.com <br /> <br /> <br />God called your name so softly <br />That only you could hear <br />And no one heard the footsteps <br />of angels drawing near <br />it broke our hearts to lose you <br />but you did not go alone <br />For part of us went with you <br />The day God called you home. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /></div>
