CONNOR, Tanya –Dartmouth, passed away February 24th, 2017 at home. She succumbed to the many complications associated with Crohn's and Heart disease. Born at the Grace Maternity Hospital in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late Ralph Connor and Ann Connor.

Tanya graduated from Teachers College in 1985 and shortly thereafter went to work for the Boys and Girls Club in Dartmouth. In 1993 she moved to Liverpool where she became a Family Support Worker with Family and Children's Services of Queens County and served there until 2003. She took great pride in her work and advocated strongly for the welfare of children while she was at Children's Services.

After leaving Liverpool she moved to Dartmouth to be closer to her family. If one phrase described Tanya it was her unwavering support for her family. She devoted her life to the betterment of her Mother, Father and Grandmother and in so doing sacrificed so much of her own life. Your kindness and sacrifice did not go unnoticed even though we might not have acknowledged it.

She is survived by her sister Cynthia; brother, James; sister-in-law, Daisy; nieces, Isabella, Sophia; nephew Sean. Tanya was an adoring Aunt and they will miss how she spoiled them on their visits. Tanya had a natural ability to engage with kids and this was witnessed many times over the years with our visits to Halifax & Chester. She will be greatly missed by all but especially Isabella, Sophia and Sean. They wish they could Face Time you just one more time.

The family wishes to thank Camilla McCarthy, Kelly Baker, and Lana Lovett for their unwavering support over so many years as Tanya struggled with her illness.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Cole Harbour Funeral Home, 1234 Cole Harbour Road. A memorial service will be held 2 PM Friday in the funeral home chapel. Reception to follow.
